Aerial Pendant was one of the final Airships created for Dispatches & Daydreams, and it arrived in an unexpected way.

During a studio visit, a friend saw To Live Aloft and asked a simple question: "What if you explored this idea vertically?" We quickly sketched out the possibility, and that conversation became the starting point for a new direction within the series.

I thought I had nearly completed the Airships for the exhibition, but that spark of inspiration led to three more vessels taking flight in a surprisingly short time. Aerial Pendant became a reminder of the creative process itself, that sometimes a single conversation can open a door to possibilities you never expected.

Like the blue pearls in Mika's haiku, this Airship reflects a transformation: something newly discovered, newly appreciated, and given the chance to shine.
