Coy Caws (or Untitled in the Exhibition)

From Dispatches & Daydreams

Notes from Our Journey
Unlike every other Airship in Dispatches & Daydreams, this vessel was intentionally left without a permanent title or accompanying haiku. Instead, it became an invitation.
Throughout the exhibition, visitors were encouraged to pause, reflect, and write their own response to this painting. We hoped a few people might accept the invitation. Instead, more than forty original haiku found their way into the journal, each one offering a unique perspective and becoming part of the story of the exhibition.
That response beautifully affirmed one of the central ideas behind Dispatches & Daydreams: that art is not a one-sided conversation. It comes fully alive when viewers bring their own experiences, memories, and imagination to the work.
While Mika's original haiku inspired the spirit of this Airship, the exhibition itself transformed it into something even larger, a shared journey created by everyone who stopped, reflected, and added their own voice. The journal shown here is a record of those moments and a reminder that creativity grows richer when it is shared.
